Verdi was an Italian composer whose impressive output of 28 operas (as well as songs and sacred works) has remained extremely popular and influential to this day. Verdi was a master of orchestration and high drama, and had an extraordinary talent for writing simple, memorable and hugely popular melodies that managed to capture a mood, character or narrative so precisely and accessibly, that one might consider him relevant to the widespread craft
