1 Immunity boosters
The Covid-19 pandemic escalated the already growing trend for foods that boost the immune system. Consumers are taking more supplements and eating foods that are high in zinc (baked beans, red meat, poultry, oysters and nuts), selenium (eggs, turkey, fish, Brazil nuts, shellfish, pork and beef), vitamin C (citrus fruits, tomatoes, green peppers and chillies) and vitamin D (salmon, sardines, herring, mackerel and egg yolk).
Immune-boosting products fall into two categories, says Giancarlos La Rocca, global category manager of Tetra Pak marketing team in Modena, Italy.
