Sporting Rifle

First time foxing

It’s very easy for those of us who have been shooting for some considerable time to pick a rifle that suits our needs, but for the first time fox shooter it’s not so easy. In fact, it’s very difficult, largely because of the ever increasing number of rifles available – but to add to the problem there seem to be new calibres appearing on a fairly regular basis. Then there is the choice of a scope and moderator to deal with – all very confusing for the uninitiated!

Of course, advice is always available on the internet but, even on that huge fount of knowledge, everyone has a personal opinion which can easily add to the problem rather than helping. As far as which make of rifle to choose, that will more often than not come down to how much cash is available and the personal preferences of the potential buyer.
