‘Please, no... The baby!’

Chatting with friends, I heard the roar of a car engine outside.

Seconds later, in walked a handsome man, who seemed ready for fun.

‘Let’s party!’ he said.

It was December 2005, and I was at a friend’s house party.

And the minute Junaid Badsah, 24, arrived, things really livened up.

Everyone seemed to like him - me included.

‘Let’s keep in touch,’ he said at the end of the night.

Junaid lived with his family in Bolton, while I lived in Manchester.

Over the next few weeks, we exchanged countless messages, and come January we went on
