Fishermen Weigh In on What They Need

Fishermen provided input and recommendations on fishery issues at two recent virtual meetings organized by the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council (the Council).

Using smart-device, electronic monitoring and more outreach could be the key to getting fishermen to participate in providing catch and effort data that fishery managers need. That was the recommendation of the Noncommercial Fisheries Advisory Committee, which provides advice to the Council.
