Recycling paint
t’s the perfect time to declutter your space while giving back. This. Since 2015, PaintCare’s Colorado program has established over 170 drop off sites, collecting over 3 million gallons of post-consumer paint. “An estimated 10% of all architectural paint sold goes unused—that’s approximately 80 million gallons of leftover paint each year in the United States,” says Colorado project manager Kevin Lynch. “When you recycle paint with PaintCare, most of the paint collected is manufactured into recycled-content paint, while some are used as fuel, distributed to the public, or put to another beneficial purpose. Only a small amount of paint is unusable and landfilled.” The organization accepts house paint/primers, deck/concrete sealers, and clear finishes.
