Star letter

Your article on winter lay-ups (issue 434) advises using a drain-down kit to eliminate water from your caravan’s system during cold weather, but I have an alternative.

I suggest that you drain down the water and leave the drain tap open. Then, shut off the kitchen sink and washroom taps and remove the shower head. With the shower tap open, blow down the shower hose. You will soon blow out the residual water and you will feel when you are just blowing air out and the water system is empty. Easy – and free!
