Soon after Enzo Ferrari’s company was founded, a tradition was established that all cars bearing his surname would be powered by 12 cylinders. This was why his V-6 race cars of the late 1950sand the six-cylinder road cars of the late 1960s — were given the honorary badge, “Dino.” The name was in commemoration of Enzo’s talented engineer son, Alfredo “Alfredino,” who had promoted the V-6 engine for racing before succumbing to kidney disease, a complication of muscular dystrophy,
