The very first vehicle of this type was delivered to John W. Hoadley of Newcastle whose firm was a caterer working in the amusement industry. The Showtrac was broadly based on the existing DE25 tractor capable of handling 25-ton payloads. Power came from a Gardner 6LW six-cylinder 8.4 litre diesel engine with a bore and stroke of 107.9mm by 152.4mm and developed 102bhp at 1,650rpm.
