CLOSET CONFESSIONS

When it comes to fast fashion, Australians are some of the world’s worst offenders! On average, each of us buys around 27kg of textiles each year, according to market research company IBISWorld and, sadly, much of this ends up as landfill. Unlike natural fibres, synthetic textiles also shed microfibres every time they’re washed, which end up in our waterways.

Determined to shed a light on this issue, natural fibre-based activewear brand Icebreaker, in collaboration with nonprofit organisation Clean Cut Fashion, has created a two-part video series hosted by actress Jodi Gordon and featuring looks at fashion’s impact on the environment and how we can help by making small changes to our shopping habits. WHO got together with Gordon, Holland and Harris to chat fashion and how they’re altering their choices for the better.
