Gear of the Year 2020

The handing out of N-Photo’s prestigious Gear of the Year has finally rolled around once more. This year has also run true to form in that there’s been a hefty raft of truly epic new cameras, lenses and accessories released, both from Nikon and a supporting cast of excellent third-party manufacturers.

Despite a few delays and cancellations, a wealth of great gear has passed through our test lab over the past 12 months. Much of it has been very impressive, but a few items really have stood out for their superb quality and spectacular performance. One thing that’s immediately clear is that Nikon’s Z system cameras and lenses lead the field, but join us as we pay homage to the very best of what 2020 had to offer.

⋆WHAT WE LOVE

Let’s face it, some online apps for designing photo books can be a bit of a chore. By stark contrast, however, CEWE’s downloadable software makes the whole process entirely intuitive, and you might even say fun. There are plenty of book sizes and customizable layout options to choose from, and the ordering process is similarly painless. Better still, the quality of the finished photo books is absolutely top-drawer, from the crisp cover image to accurate colour reproduction on the high-quality paper stock within. It’s a speedy and great-value service that’s well worth recommending.

⋆ WHAT’S MISSING?

There are no web-based tools for designing books and, unlike some competitors, CEWE only ships photo books to the UK.
