FROM its grassy picnic spots and indigenous plants and trees to the variety of animals, the Mitchell Park Zoo has been an attraction for more than a century.
This month marks 130 years since the land was allocated by the city to be used as a park.
This same land would later be toiled by Indian indentured labourers who arrived in South Africa in November 1860.
