It might appear the Beths had a very good 2020, despite everything. After all, the band’s second album, Jump Rope Gazers, won album of the year at the Aotearoa Music Awards, where they also took away best group and best alternative artist for the second year running.

What’s more, they launched the album at a quickly sold-out show at Auckland’s Powerstation, then a few months later, sold out the Auckland Town Hall at the end of a three-week national tour.

They actually got to play in front of people and sold them albums, T-shirts and Beths face masks afterwards.
