IT SEEMED LIkE AUTUMN WAS underway up here in Glasgow – wind blowing the leaves to the ground, the air freshening and a distinct lack of sunshine being replaced by a somewhat oppressive and overcast feel to the season.
I’d managed a few solo trips to the south-west of Scotland and this jaunt to Wigtown Bay, in Dumfries and Galloway, felt like the last gasp of fair-weather fishing before the cod season up on the north-east coast.
