LIGHT ROCK FISHING IN winter, especially in the colder parts of the British Isles, can be tough but you can keep the fun going all year by building up your knowledge of marks. Getting to grips with their topography serves you , only sport is harder but also throughout the year.
With LRF being less commonly practiced than standard bait-and-wait shore fishing tactics, much of the tactical information rarely applies to modern lure work. For instance, advice such as “fish a gully 40 metres out with peeler for cod on the flood” will only show you if there are cod present. How do you apply this knowledge when using low diameter mainlines and lures up to 7g?
