10 Questions With ... Jason McCormick

Jason McCormick learned years ago from his dad, Keith, one important lesson in the collector car auction business: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Together, the pair have made McCormick’s Palm Springs Collector Car Auctions a fixture on the old car map, efficiently pulling off two auctions a year — in February and November — and maintaining a strong and loyal West Coast following in the process.

Keith founded the company 35 years ago and still helps run things, but it’s Jason who handles many of the day-to-day operations and manages the staff of five employees. The McCormicks have proven a small operation can be very successful over the long haul. Their formula for success largely depends on sticking to the basics: No gimmicks, no surprises, good folks and good, honest cars.

Jason McCormick recently got the Old Cars “10 Questions With” treatment, fresh off another successful fall auction conducted at a time when many other auction houses were idled by the ongoing pandemic.
