SANDY STRUTHERS OBE
THE racing owner, a life president of the National Horseracing College, died last month, aged 91.
Following an early education in Scotland, Mr Struthers went on to study at Trinity College in Cambridge. He later ran the family shipping company J & A Gardner & Co, founded by his great-grandfather in 1860, and was appointed OBE for his services to shipping.
He became a racehorse owner in the 1950s
