Bullying ‘rife’ at tertiary level

BULLYING is rife at tertiary education institutions throughout South Africa and does not only affect women, according to Brightness Mangolothi, the director of Higher Education Resource Services South Africa (Hers-SA).

She said bullying was a global higher education challenge, yet few institutions had policies in place to deal with workplace bullying.

She told University World News that as part of her doctoral study she focused on women academics’
