First woman AG has all the tools to be successful

NOVEMBER is a special month for all the women of the world. For the first time, a woman will become Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) when its General Council meets on November 9.

Either Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a Nigerian, or Yoo Myung-hee of the Republic of Korea will lead the 25-year old organisation, comprised of 164 members representing 98% of world trade.

Someone who started her university studies a year before the WTO was founded, Tsakani Maluleke, will take over as Auditor-General (AG) in South Africa, the first woman to hold the top position since the organisation was created in 1911.
