Shortly after Adolf Hitler and the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP — Nazi party) came to power in 1933, a national poll showed that ninety-eight percent of Germans supported the Nazi cause. This blind adherence to the ideals of the party led the nation into a war producing an early dominance of Europe.
