High Times broke down the hype, sales data and demand for the top strains in North America, according to region. We included the top strains in US regions, as well as fierce contenders in Canada. Powerful, relatively new indica-dominant strains are pushing the limits of delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol well beyond 34 percent. Conversely, hemp strains are commonly loaded with cannabidiol (CBD), delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol and other useful compounds. While sativa and indica are generally poor ways of categorizing cannabis scientifically, we examined the energetic and sedative characteristics of the top phenotypes, and how they are categorized according to retailers.
