DRIVING force

The last time ADB tested a Ural sidecar was a day Editor Mitch Lees, Tech Ed Mat Boyd and my dear self won’t soon forget. We were chaperoned onto a NSW Central Coast beach by rangers, the very people employed to keep motorcycles away, because watching three blokes ride a sidecar on sand was an opportunity too good to miss.

On the beach, the Ural Ranger Sahara wanted to dig in at every opportunity but we made it work, thanks to large handfuls of throttle. We then spent the best part of six hours wrestling 335kg of Russia’s finest up and down the beach in 43-degree heat trying to get the perfect shot for ADB #463.
