Beta off red
Considering the MY20 Beta RR300 was basically an all-new machine, we’d understand if this year’s changes didn’t extend beyond the red plastics and new graphics, especially considering what COVID was up to in Italy. But it seems the factory engineers were sitting at home in iso near Florence just figuring out stuff to do on the new bikes.
The list includes an updated frame in the steering head area for improved feel and durability, more robust carbon composite subframe, new sideplates for easier installation, updated petrol cap, improved seatbase and foam, optimised airbox for improved waterproofing, new electrical system with improved charging efficiency, updated speedo and, last but not least, upgrades to the ZF Sachs fork and shock.
With Beta’s World Enduro Championship record of four titles in the last four years, as well as leading this year’s condensed title chase, I should not have expected anything less than these kinds of updates but I was still very impressed with the
