SOUNDING BOARD

Ode to Our No. 1 World-Changer

Initially I had a problem with the omission of some of my favorite guitarists from “40 Guitarists Who Changed Our World Since 1980” in the December 2020 issue, but GW nailed number one: Edward Van Halen. Ironically, this would be the last cover Eddie appeared on before his untimely death on October 6. I believe, like Jimi Hendrix, that Eddie will posthumously grace your cover many times in the future. I wonder if we’ll also hear, like Hendrix, posthumous releases from Van Halen’s vast library of unreleased music in the years to come?
