Between THE RACES

It’s no little secret that Covid 19 has thrown the world of professional sports on its head, and none more so than downhill mountain biking - Heavily reliant on international travel and roaring crowds trackside and by the podiums, it’s safe to say that the whole sport is somewhat against most government protocol at the time of writing…

Enter ‘Between The Races,’ a more relevant exposé than ever at what the world’s best downhill mountain bikers from the Monster Energy stable do during the short breaks in-between the races during the season, to the longer so-called off-season spanning the entirety of the northern hemisphere winter.

Now usually the downhill season runs from May to September, a tightly packed schedule of 8 races in Slovenia, Scotland, Andorra, The French, Swiss and Italian Alps and ending up a West Virginian finale in the good old US of A. Not bad work if you can get it. When the World Cup rolls into town it’s a full circus, Mountain Bike fever takes over whichever town is playing host and yes, the after-parties can be quite raucous. Especially with some of the characters that Between the Races features. Oh, how we can’t wait for a return
