Simple pleasure

All things should finish on a high note and the end of the sailing season is no exception. Ideally a fair wind should fan warm memories of the closing season and soften the mournful course for the indignity of a cradle.

Oddly enough our last sail of the season was in the spring, with an epic push from the Bahamas to Chesapeake. Every box was ticked, from Bahamian sunshine to a bitterly but seasonally premature, for the sun’s warm caress was just starting to creep north and paint the land green.
