The claustrophobia of lockdown has surely made all of us value our access to open space all the more – and there will have been special delight for those who have had the chance to reshape a garden in need of radical reorganisation. Such a case came the way of RHS Chelsea medal-winning designer Helen Elks-Smith when she was commissioned to reorder the garden of a property near the south coast, which its new owners had acquired and modernised while living overseas.
