TREASURE TROVE

AS someone with a deep love for period properties – beautiful sash windows and intricate coving will always have my heart – it’s a constant disappointment that my budget doesn’t quite match up with my taste in houses. Scrolling through Rightmove, it’s apparent that my only chance of getting my hands on a coveted Victorian or Edwardian home is by buying a flat. I toy with the idea every time my mouse hovers over the ‘save’ button, but the same questions always come into my head: won’t it be too small? And isn’t it difficult to do, well, anything in a property like this?
