Grow your gardening skills
During lockdown, millions of people found sanctuary in their gardens, resulting in an upsurge in green-fingered pursuits, from growing fruit and veg on the patio to creating new flower beds. Gardening is a vast subject area that takes many years to fully master, but you don’t need to be an expert to enjoy it, and often the best way to build your experience and learn what works in your own garden is through trial and error.
A good place to start is to assess your plot and soil type – which areas are mainly in the sun, and which are partially or fully shaded? Do you have heavy clay-based soil, freedraining sandy or chalky soil, or perfect loamy soil? Invest
