WEDNESDAY, 4 November had a peculiar feeling about it. Rather like those of us who can remember where we were when Princess Diana died or John F Kennedy was assassinated, I will always remember where I was on the eve of lockdown 2.0 – the Worcestershire’s opening meet, and what a great day it was.

Arriving at Caroline Webley’s busy dealing and livery yard near Redditch to be paired up with the lovely horse she kindly lent me, there were friendly, happy people all filled with eager anticipation for the day ahead. The Webley family are top-drawer supporters of the hunt and nothing is ever too much trouble for their can-do attitude.
