LAST MONTH I FELT THE WARMTH COMING BACK to me about the ‘damn Norton ES2 project’. It had been fighting me, and having bought it in bits, I had never seen it in one piece before, making the job harder still.
The cam timing stopped me getting the bottom end together, as I hadn’t a clue how to set it up. On a car, the punch marks on the cam gears would line up, but on the Norton, the old manuals I’ve been using say they line up to the corresponding marks on the crank, or pinion gear – I’m not sure what to call it.
