ORN AUGUST 22, 1985 in San Francisco, CA, twin brothers Jonathan and Joshua Fatu are better known today as Jimmy and Jey Uso, respectively … Sons of former WWE fan favorite Rikishi adopted the surname “Uso,” which is the Samoan word for “brother” … True tag team lifers, they debuted together in 2009, briefly appearing on the indies as “The Samoan Soldiers” tag division to mixed success, failing to capture the brand’s tag straps in multiple attempts … Became entangled with The Colons for much of late 2011, facing off on both and (to which they were eventually drafted) … Also appeared on NXT’s weekly TV shows, managing a slightly better win-loss record … Remained active at Smackdown live events throughout 2012, often battling The Prime Time Players (and usually winning) … The Usos wouldn’t wear any more gold until March 2014, when they beat The New Age Outlaws for the WWE tag team title … Managed an impressive reign, defending the belts successfully for more than 200 days before losing them at Night of Champions to Goldust and Stardust (Cody Rhodes) … Reclaimed the gold on a December episode of and charted an additional 55 days as co-champions … Voted Tag Team of the Year in 2014 Achievement Awards … Jey suffered a shoulder injury in early-2015, leaving Jimmy briefly to his own devices … Though The Usos accomplished little on paper that year, they remained viable by partnering with real-life cousin Roman Reigns and feuding with some of WWE’s top tandems on … Honored in the 2015 Slammy Awards as “Tag Team Of The Year” … 2016 saw Jimmy and Jey return to Smackdown, where they entered a tournament to crown the brand’s inaugural tag champs … Turned heel by attacking American Alpha after a humiliating loss … Lost to eventual champs Rhyno and Heath Slater in the tourney final at Backlash … Finally beat American Alpha for the belts on the March 21 edition of … With that win, became the first team to capture the Raw and Smackdown tag team belts … Wore the gold for most of 2017—spread out over three reigns—as they engaged in a red-hot rivalry with The New Day … Feud continued into WrestleMania 34, where the two teams lost a triple-threat to The Bludgeon Brothers (Erick Rowan & Brodie Lee), ending The Usos’ reign … Later proved consistently unable to dethrone The Bar as tag champs … Won a four-way #1 contender’s match (including The Bar, The New Day, and Heavy Machinery) to earn a title shot at Elimination Chamber … Defeated Shane McMahon and The Miz to claim the Smackdown tag championship for a fourth time … Retained the belts in a four-way match at WrestleMania 35 before dropping them to The Hardys on … Moved back to Raw, where they memorably feuded with The Revival (FTR) … With Jimmy in limbo due to legal issues, then later sidelined by injury, Jey emerged as a singles star on the Smackdown brand in late-2020 … Jimmy supported him, making the difficult call to throw in the towel during Jey’s main event title shot against Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions.
