Now that we’ve covered the techniques used in legato playing (GT314) and looked at ways to map out and sequence scales (GT315), it’s time to look at two important approaches we can use to emulate fusion guitar masters like Brett Garsed, Greg Howe and the ‘big daddy’, Allan Holdsworth.
The first approach is chromatic passing tones. Passing tones from outside the key create colour, build interest and maximise the number of notes accessible to the fretting hand
