Q: If I’m fishing into rough ground for cod, do I need to use a shockleader when using a stronger mainline?

PF says: Generally, many shore anglers who fish venues where heavier tackle is required to cope with the harsh terrain, still use a leader even when power casting isn’t required.

It’s more of a rubbing leader rather than a shockleader for absorbing powerful casting styles.
