GIVE YOUR RESEARCH THE WDYTYA? TREATMENT
Once again, an intrepid group of celebrities has ventured out on a journey of discovery to explore their ancestral roots. I say “intrepid” because they don’t know what they will uncover, and it’s not always what they want to hear. Jack Whitehall also felt uncomfortable about his anti-Chartist ancestor, while poor John Hurt found out that he was descended from a chronic liar rather than an illegitimate child of the Marquess of Sligo.
One thing we do know though is that each episode will reveal fascinating stories, as they always have done. From gripping adventures to survival against the odds, the ancestors of these celebrities often seem to have led more interesting lives than our own. But there’s no reason why that should be the case. Usually the only difference is that the researchers behind the TV series have become very adept at finding stories within someone’s family history
