THE SOMERTON MAN
On December 1, 1948, a man was found dead, slumped under the esplanade at Somerton Beach, Adelaide, SA.
Nobody knew who he was, and police failed to find a match for his dental records or fingerprints. An autopsy found the male was aged between 40 and 45, possibly an athlete and had died from heart failure brought on by poisoning.
