It could very well be that the meaning of life is simply to have as much fun as possible while you’re on this planet. As author Leo Buscaglia once wrote, “Nobody gets out of this world alive." So while we're here, shouldn’t we put a heavy emphasis on enjoying it to the fullest?

Alas, there are boundaries and modern life is often a series of choices made within the parameters of wants and needs. I need a Mazda 2 but I want a Tesla Model S. I need to drink more water but I want a Balter XPA. I need a banana but I want a doughnut.

Nobody needs 158 horsepower to go on an adventure ride. KTM’s 1290 Adventure R therefore has a lot of what you don’t need, but you’ll never get me to deny that it’s a lot of fun to play with. And I want things that are fun to play with. Thus is the dichotomy inherent in the 1290 Adventure R.

Motorcycles have always been an expression of individuality — a statement on who you are and how you view life. The Internet, however, likes to shout down ideas that don’t match the typist's own. But we must all resist. The answer to “why would you buy that?” must always be “because I wanted to” — it’s the only reason that matters. It’s your bike. It’s your choice and if it makes you happy, any dissenting opinion can fuck right off, even if it does
