The Western Bay Museum in Katikati is currently celebrating some of the region’s finest sporting achievers: the local rugby club, Waihi Surf Lifesaving Club, and local lad made good, 1967 Formula 1 (F1) world champion Denny Hulme. Greeta invited my wife Sandy and me to the opening of the exhibition, where Denny’s 1955 MG TF is proudly holding centre stage for the duration. She spoke enthusiastically at the event and was keen to continue on afterwards. She is effortlessly glamorous and proudly told me that she still regularly plays golf and badminton.
