INSPIRATIONS

01 GECKO (ANIMALS: FINALIST) BY JUAN JESÚS GONZÁLEZ AHUMADA

Geckos are absolutely tiny creatures, so Juan did well to not only spot this one but also to get a frame-filling shot of it in this beautifully vibrant setting. His focusing technique is spot-on as the gecko’s eye is pin-sharp too. Juan told us, “Geckos like to sun themselves to regulate their temperature. They also like to take advantage of any gap in my house to hide themselves! This individual is peeking out of a hole in an old gymnastics bench in the storage room.”
