Meet Jo Storie

JO STORIE created our ‘Alnwick’ sweater pattern on page 36, and the design perfectly showcases her signature style – timeless, easy-to-wear and flattering. Jo is also the woman behind the BareFaced yarn brand, which specialises in luxurious British fibres. We caught up with Jo to find out how she became an independent designer, and why she set up her own yarn brand.

When did you learn to knit?

“I was about six or seven years old. My Nana taught me to knit, then the Brownies refined my skills, and I remember getting a craft badge for knitting a doll.”

Can you remember the first original piece of knitwear you ever created?
