THE HOODOO

As a longtime free flighter, my track record with high wing models and biplanes hasn’t been too bad. However, with low wing models, it’s been a bit less than stellar. So the goal with the Hoodoo was to design a fairly simple sport model that would deliver consistent flights in the 30 – 45 second range in our relatively small flying venue. To keep it simple, the model is mostly square with a minimal number of cut parts. The only thing that might be a bit out of the ordinary is the wing. The idea was to incorporate the “Cessna style” double tapered wing because of its gentle stall characteristics. That coupled with the simple flat bottom airfoil should make for a fairly foolproof combination.
