2 As road bends L, take dead-end lane signposted Grisedale on R.

3 When surfaced lane bends sharp R, keep straight on along rough track.

4 At cairn at top of valley climb, with Grisedale Tarn ahead, keep R, soon ascending pitched path.

5 Gradient eases at cairn on Dollywaggon Pike. Head R for true summit. Now walk along
