Electronic speedometer upgrade

From 1969, starting with the UK Clubman, some Mini instrument pods were mounted in the driver’s line of sight but, even when it comes to the very last Mini speedometers, some consider them to be ‘old hat’ when compared to the modern day instrument functionality we now take for granted. Many do not have trip meters, let alone other features often seen on modern, electronic types. Mechanical speedometer cables are troublesome, should the cable routing be sub-optimal and, when the cable is worn, it can produce the all too familiar wobbling of the speedo needle. If you are looking to modernise your control panel then fitting a modern electronic speedo into the existing pod is one possible solution.
