In contract negotiations, baseball players, through their agents, often have demands. So does Rodney Tafoya, a hired arm by many amateur, independent and senior men’s leagues. It’s “starter or bust.” That’s because he’s pursuing his 500th pitching victory – and he has all of his 450 previous wins (as of mid-October) chronicled, with a ball from every victory. He knows as a reliever his chances of picking up a victory are slim – and at 56 years of age, he doesn’t know how much longer he’ll be winging it.
It seems whenever baseball fans get on a Facebook page dealing with the National Pastime, there are questions about which records will never be broken.
