HALL OF FRAME KNIVES
When knife design legend and BLADE Magazine Cutlery Hall-Of-Fame® member Chris Reeve debuted the Integral Lock in the late 1980s, the innovation sparked a wave of interest across the factory and custom knife spectrum. The result was a new perspective on the process of opening and closing a folding knife, and the engineering marvel has become a standard commonly referred to as the framelock.
The surge of new look, feel and performance continues today, an homage to Reeve’s genius of 30 years ago, as well as a new frontier for custom and manufacturing creativity among many producers. “Chris was looking at the traditional linerlock, and it occurred to him to simplify the whole thing,” recalled Anne Reeve, “no bolsters, no liners, and slit the handle to make the lock. He prototyped several times over what he then simply called the Titanium Folder, but that has become the Sebenza.”
