Even though there were no crowds present for the Rolex Series events at Renaissance and Wentworth, they felt different – there was a sense of gravitas and the players knew they were competing in the biggest events on the European Tour. I’m sure the prize pools helped in that regard, but the biggest motivation for all those taking part was the prestige, world ranking points and global acclaim.
