As a child, Irish-born Clodagh McKenna would bake every Saturday morning with her family, and every night they would have a home-cooked supper together on a beautifully laid table. Summers were spent in France with a local family whose mother was an amazing cook and taught Clodagh about the cuisine. Then there were three years living in Italy, where she learnt about Italian cooking and food culture.

Clodagh started her career training and working at Ballymaloe Cookery School & House in Co. Cork. For the past two years, the chef, TV presenter and award-winning cookbook author has lived at Broadspear, in the grounds of Highclere Castle where Downtown Abbey is filmed, lovingly bringing the property back to life with her fiancé Harry Herbert, chairman of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing and son of Lord Porchester, the late 7th Earl of Carnarvon.
