‘The family who DIYs together stays together’

With his flamboyant floral shirts and racy leather trousers, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen was the exuberant interior designer who entertained the nation by transforming drab beige homes with flourishes of crimson and splashes of purple velvet on Changing Rooms .

Fast forward 16 years and he is about to wave his magic wand over tired interiors again as the much-loved show returns.

But fans of spartan decor and 50 shades of white be warned: Laurence is on a swashbuckling design mission, complete with a new take on his trademark dandy-ish wardrobe.

“Our banner cry is to make Britain bright again,” he says.

Laurence is throwing open the doors of his gradean exclusive first glimpse of his own -style makeover.
