It is the biggest global project the 38-year-old Duke has undertaken and looks likely to be one of his greatest achievements. But his determination to heal the planet has a deeply personal motive: he wants to make the world a better place not only for his children – Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and two-year-old Prince Louis – but for all children and future generations. A majority in our poll believe that when William became a dad, it increased his passion and concern for the future of the planet; readers also feel that by involving his three children in a film – in which they quizzed naturalist Sir David – it sent a powerful message, especially to the younger generation. “William is a brilliant, hands-on father and as well as teaching his children about the environment he is leading by example,” says Dickie. “People want to hear younger leaders talk about the environment, and William is of the age that youngsters will listen to him and think: He’s taking an interest, we have a problem, so we’d better roll up our sleeves and do something about it.’”
