Sallie Tisdale’s essay “Learning to (Sep/Oct) really hit the mark. Last year, I lost my son to cancer; he died here at home, surrounded by hospice and loved ones. Tisdale’s poignant examples of what characterizes grief and bereavement will be instantly recognized by those who have suffered losses such as mine. Congratulations on a forthright, unflinching analysis of this all-too-human phenomenon.
